Kimironko Hills - Ride to lake Muhazi
Trade city noise for ridgelines, lake breezes, and fresh grilled tilapia at the Fish Pub on Lake Muhazi. We roll out of Kigali and climb through eucalyptus forests and terraced hills before dropping to the water’s edge—an easygoing day ride with big views and plenty of photo stops.

Choose your flavour of adventure: a city-leaning route (~70% tarmac) that sticks mostly to smooth tarmac, or a backroads-leaning route (~30% tarmac) that adds non-asphalt mountain sections for extra fun. Whichever you pick, the final ~10 km are off-road, on mellow laterite/gravel suitable for most riders.

Bikes: it’s doable on 110cc semi-automatics, but you’ll be happiest on a Boxer X150, Haojin Hawk II, or Cyclone RX1 for their stability and comfort on mixed surfaces. Helmets are mandatory for rider and passenger; we time the loop to avoid night riding.
